Andi2q I see that you are on the podcast as well, what encouraged you to get into doing a podcast and with entrepreneurs? Are they in all different industries or just food groups?
Dan Simons "While I had always thought about a podcast, the real catalyst was wtop coming to me with the idea to collaborate. I felt with their reach and expertise, we could do something really cool. The podcast is focused on entrepreneurs who have started companies in the Dc area Dc, Md, Va), their journeys and lessons they have to share. All industries are represented; while I have my restaurant industry journey to share and weave in as the guest entrepreneurship has roots in every imaginable business and industry."
Andi2q How is it or how does it feel being a part of YouTube now as a restaurant? Is it as great as people think, do you have to ask people to subscribe?
Dan Simons "Youtube is a valuable media channel; seems to me that it makes sense for a restaurant to be represented on all the major social media channels, and all the places that potential diners find themselves scrolling, browsing, exploring, engaging. Certainly gaining subscribers must be part of any social media strategy. No point having content if people aren't seeing it, and getting engaged with it."

Andi2q Will you be asking for more entities to sponsor or just Georgetown and the others mentioned?
Dan Simons "Wtop manages the sponsorships and advertisers for the show, so I'm lucky I don't need to manage that. From what the sponsors have told me, they are thrilled so far, and planning to stay engaged for the long-term. As for additional sponsors, generally the door is open for more advertisers, but for the moment, we are not looking for that."
Andi2q What brings people to the podcast, is it a subscription with wtop radio or sirius xm?
Dan Simons "On this case, we have the powerful reach of wtop's audience of millions of frequent listeners; so they can promote that bring people to podcast are advertisement/promotion, interesting thumbnails and summaries, great social media ads for the podcast, and of course, word of mouth."

Andi2q What is something currently about the podcast venture you would like to share to bloggers and vloggers out there reading this and watching or listening to your podcast?
Dan Simons "I realize the world doesn't need any more boring or expected content. The conversations we're having, and the golden nuggets of entrepreneurial wisdom that I'm on the hunt to mine, uncover, magnify and share, are unique in that while I'm an entrepreneur; so these are conversations rather than typical, "interviews" and my hope is this approach allows our conversations to go to places that are truly unique in a way that in our ongoing entrepreneurial journeys."

Andi2q This podcast is great marketing for the restaurant right?
Dan Simons "For sure; while it might not be, "great" as an immediate impact on our restaurants, it certainly leads to more exposure and more top of mind, which I hope inspires listeners to think, "Oh yeah, I need to go eat at founding farmers," or "Oh wow, I didn't know founding farmers also had a full service catering & events company, I need to use them for my next event!"
